On March 8, 2022, the music streaming service Spotify experienced an outage that logged users out of their accounts without the ability to log back in. The app was up and running again at around the same time. (NEXSTAR) Several online platforms, including Spotify and Discord, experienced web outages Tuesday. Messaging platform Discord also ran into problems at the same time, and although this is thought to be coincidental, some are speculating that both problems could be linked to Google Cloud. According to Down Detector, the outage started around 12:30 PM ET. The streaming service was back up and running again by 7:39PM last night, although thousands of users have now reported being logged out of the app without the ability to get back in. Spotify and Discord are now back up and running after a brief but heavy outage. “Something’s not quite right, and we’re looking into it,” Spotify said on Twitter during the outage. After a quick and messy outage, both Spotifiy and Discord are back for us. Some Spotify users have now reported that their accounts have been deleted as a result of the crash. Over 72,000 reports came in during the first hour that the app went down, which was first reported at around 6:PM yesterday, March 8. ![]() A flood of Spotify users reported that they were locked out of the app last night for almost two hours. ![]()
